Volume of work done in a lifetime or legacy left behind?

Monday, July 18, 2022.

Last week, I went through my ‘archives’ (I do that from time to time) and found this:

Personal ‘record’ – Six (6) total abdominal hysterectomies from 7:15am to 1:47pm.
Battor, February 12, 2009.

In February 2009, I was a young specialist, full of energy. I am surely not going to try to break this record.

People grow old. Many change focus. And as they prepare to leave the scene forever, many are concerned more with the legacy they leave behind for the next generation, not just the volume of work done.
That is where I find myself.
