Training in cervical cancer prevention skills at the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre in Catholic Hospital, Battor

Dear all,

The Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre (CCPTC), Catholic Hospital, Battor, in partnership with the Tema Lions Club is building capacity in cervical cancer prevention skills across Ghana. The Tema Lions Club is raising funds to sponsor some 140 health workers in about 70 institutions across the country for Module 1 of our training programme.

The fundraising is an ongoing exercise and it takes time to organise events to raise funds. The CCPTC trains health workers when funds are raised and available. Individual institutions can contribute to this capacity building across the country by sponsoring/paying for their health workers to come for the training without waiting for sponsorship from Tema Lions Club or other sponsors/philanthropists. The Tema Lions Club alone cannot sponsor health workers from all institutions across Ghana to come for the training.

The cost of Module 1 of our training programme which lasts 2 weeks is GHS 3,070. The breakdown is attached.
Thank you very much.

Dr. Med. Kofi Effah
(Head, Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre, Catholic Hospital, Battor).
